There is nothing more fascinating than believing in a project and fighting with all your effort and passion to get it going.
In this first blog post, I'm going to tell you why we started this project, what led us to put it into action, and what our experiences were in developing it.
Both Sonsoles and I are two women of the baby-boom generation (mature in age, but adolescent in ideas) and we have experience acquired precisely because of our age, our families (we are both mothers of large families), our daily work and business management.
Sonsoles runs a farm in Carmona (Seville), “Finca Las Coronas”, a pioneer in the organic cultivation of Aloe vera and other crops such as olive trees, cotton, lavender and other aromatic plants such as rosemary, thyme, eucalyptus, sea buckthorn…
Isabel, author of this first post, is a pharmacist in Vitoria and comes from a third-generation family of entrepreneurial women. I'm used to challenges, I love to innovate, I'm naturally restless, and at the same time, I'm passionate about my profession. Phytotherapy is a branch of Pharmacy that has always fascinated me. When I was studying Botany at university, we used to go out into the countryside to collect plants for herbariums: we learned to identify them, to press them, to dry them, and how to extract their active ingredients. For me, it was a wonderful experience that has led me to continue my training for many years and to specialize in this field, along with Dermopharmacy.
Sonsoles and I met in the countryside, quite by chance, and from the very first moment we knew we were going to embark on an adventure together. We also have Andrés, another driving force behind this project, an agricultural engineer and one of Spain's leading experts in Aloe vera cultivation. His enthusiasm constantly motivates us to keep going; he's always innovating, and his mind is brimming with ideas and insights.
At first, we were cautious, taking small steps that gradually brought us closer to our joint business project. During that time, the pandemic hit, slowing down the company's development but not discouraging us. We continued with our entrepreneurial enthusiasm undiminished, covering stages steadily and surely.
And here we are, telling you the origin of Aloeceuticals Healthcare , which as its name indicates combines “Aloe vera (plant of the earth) + pharmaceutical quality”.
Why Aloe?
Aloe vera is an iconic plant used since time immemorial for skincare. It's organically grown on our farm, so we know our plants intimately, nurturing them, watching them grow day by day until they're ready for harvest, and ensuring their quality. We use our own raw material. It's present in most of our formulations, is our main focus, and we're proud of it and what it offers.
Why “Ceuticals”?
Because our formulations have been conceived, designed and tested with the pharmaceutical quality that our training and professional experience provide.
What are we looking to achieve with our company?
Aloeceuticals Healthcare Sl. We are a Spanish company that creates natural skincare products for you and your skin with an environmental and social conscience. Many of our ingredients come from our own crops. Production batches are small to guarantee and preserve the quality of the ingredients at all times.
And what do we want?
• To satisfy the current consumer demand for quality products that preserve the environment and are sustainable, and manufactured with the best natural ingredients in order to avoid undesirable reactions in our body.
• Supporting small local producers with their crops to maintain their ecosystem and prevent the depopulation of rural areas. Protecting our artisanal traditions. And also enjoying natural experiences that reconnect us with the raw materials that nature offers. Reconnecting your skincare routine with nature.
