Nature provides us with true treasures, and Aloe vera is one of them. We are aware of its magnificent properties, and that is why we are pioneers in cultivating this plant in Southern Andalusia. Our farm, "Las Coronas"—located in Carmona (Seville)—is where we cultivate Aloe vera, an essential botanical ingredient in our formulations.
Why did we start growing Aloe?
The climate of the Guadalquivir Valley, the quality of its soil and the properties of this plant led us to begin cultivating it more than a decade ago, making our plantation the first to cultivate it in this region.
Legendary plant
Aloe vera is a true gift of nature that has been used in herbal medicine for its great health benefits for more than 5000 years by all civilizations, symbolizing for the peoples of Antiquity "immortality, beauty, health and regeneration", being considered the "elixir of eternal life".
A bit of history
The ancient Egyptians were convinced that Aloe had the power to facilitate the passage to the afterlife and therefore placed its leaves in the tombs of the pharaohs, so that the transition would take place under the best auguries.
Its benefits are described in clay tablets and papyri that dealt with methods and remedies for healing: it is even mentioned in the famous "Ebers Papyrus", which is the oldest known record of medicines.
Hippocrates, Aristotle, and Pliny the Elder speak extensively and in detail in their medical treatises about its beneficial and curative properties.
Alexander the Great fought and invaded territories such as the island of Socotra (south of the Arabian Peninsula) to obtain the Aloe plants that thrived there, in order to cure his soldiers.
Cleopatra , the famous Egyptian queen, had a habit of bathing in aloe juice as part of her beauty routine and as an elixir of youth.
In Central and South America, Aloe has always been considered a sacred plant that brings happiness to those who possess it.
In the Middle East, it is still considered a plant that wards off bad vibes and negativity. It is placed above the entrance to rooms to purify the space and attract prosperity to the family.
In Ayurvedic medicine, it has been widely used for its therapeutic properties, which help maintain or restore balance among the body's functions . It is also mentioned in the sacred texts of Hinduism and in the famous Kama Sutra for its aphrodisiac properties.
In China it is known as the "plant of harmony", and has been described in detail in its pharmacopoeia since 4000 BC
It is also described in numerous passages in the Bible and – mainly in the Gospel according to Saint John.
Today, thanks to pharmacist Bill C. Coats, who in the 1970s developed a method to guarantee the perfect viability of its properties for a long time after its extraction, it can be marketed universally.
Aloe vera, the plant of “ beauty, health and well-being ”, gives its name to our natural cosmetics brand Aloeceuticals and to our pharmaceutical laboratory, because we want to generate positivity, attract happiness and prosperity and maintain the beauty and functional balance of people.
It's our essence!
